The Power Of A Clear Conscience

Many Christians find it impossible to move forward in serving the Lord because of a nagging conscience, either because of their personal failures or because of the guilt inherited from their upbringing. Because they have a heart that condemns them, they find it difficult to have confidence in God and His promises.

This  sermon series seeks to explain how to apply the promises of God to free us from the real guilt of our offences and also the false guilt that others expect us to bear.  We will learn how to have a clear conscience toward God, but also toward others. We will answer questions about the unpardonable sin and the subject of how to break cycles of sin that often beset us.

The goal of these messages is that we might experience joy that overflows from a heart that daily experiences the deep assurance of God’s forgiveness and love for us all. With a clear conscience we can relate to others with freedom and sleep in peace.

The Truth That Hurts And Heals

Date Sun, Oct 5, 2014

God wants us to have a “good conscience” that is, a conscience that does not condemn us in God’s presence and in the presence of others.  Repeated sin defiles the conscience.

We are (1) prone to addictions and (2) there are many causes of addictions and (3) cycles of failure thrive with accessibility, secrecy, deception, escape, hopelessness and shame.

Jesus spoke of the religious leaders of His day as being slaves to sin.  Freedom comes by hard truths
